Jammu, August 29
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) said on Saturday that it had decided to use the postal service to deliver ‘prasad’ to devotees across the country.
Rames Kumar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shrine Board, announced the board’s agreement with the Postal Department.
An official spokesperson for the shrine said that the arrangement was primarily aimed at delivering Prasad at the doorstep of those people who could not undertake the Vaishno Devi yatra because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The service, the spokespersons aid, was on “no profit, no loss” basis, and can be booked online under three different categories at www.maavaishnodevi.org or a call to 9906019475.
The shrine board has already allowed devotees to perform Hawan/Puja in absentia at the Yagya Shala at Bhawan.
The yatra, which was suspended in March as coronavirus pandemic began to spread its claws in the country, resumed on August 16, as did supplementary facilities like helicopter, battery operated vehicles and passenger ropeway between Bhawan and Bhairon.
