COVID-19 pandemic: 7 deaths in Jammu and Kashmir

With 149 fresh cases, the Covid count in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) reached 5,555 on Thursday evening. While seven deaths were reported in J&K during the past 24 hours, 230 more positive patients, 72 from Jammu and 158 from Kashmir Valley, were cured and discharged from various hospitals.

With seven deaths during the last 24 hours, the Covid toll in J&K reached 71. Of the seven deaths during the past 24 hours, six were recorded in Kashmir and two in the Jammu region.

Reports said five persons lost their lives in Kashmir and two in Jammu during the last 24 hours.

A 65-year-old man from Bohri, Talab Tillo area, who was under treatment at the isolation ward in the GMC Jammu, died late on Wednesday evening. The person was under quarantine in a paid facility after his recent return from New Delhi. After he developed corona symptoms, including high fever, he was shifted to hospital. The second person who died is from the Kote-Garhi area of Akhnoor in Jammu district. — TNS
