Decks cleared for setting up KV school campus at Gandoh
Marking a major development in educational infrastructure in the region, School Education Department, Doda, and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) signed a lease to establish the latter’s campus at Gandoh.
Under the agreement, 10.25 acres of land will be transferred to KVS, marking the beginning of the establishment of a new Kendriya Vidyalaya in the region.
The move, guided by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and Director, School Education Jammu, Ashok Sharma, is aimed at improving access to high-quality education in a region previously under served in terms of educational facilities.
The initiative has also received strong backing from local political representatives, including Member of the Legislative Assembly Daleep Singh Parihar underscoring a united effort from both local and regional authorities.
The land lease agreement was formally executed at the office of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gandoh, Arun Badyal, where the official handover of the documents took place.
Chief Education Officer Mohammad Hafiz oversaw the proceedings, reflecting the importance of the initiative for the district’s educational landscape.
Principal of Higher Secondary School, Gandoh, and the Principal of the proposed Kendriya Vidyalaya, were present to lend their support to this historic agreement.
