SpiceJet flight makes emergency landing at Srinagar airport

A SpiceJet flight between Delhi to Srinagar requested an emergency landing at the Srinagar airport on Friday after reporting a “pressurisation problem", officials said.

A Srinagar-based senior airport official told The Tribune that flight number SG 385, between Delhi and Srinagar, with over 200 passengers on board reported an emergency due to pressurisation problem.

“However, the aircraft landed safely at 3.27 pm. No medical assistance was requested by passengers or crew. The aircraft would undergo necessary inspection,” the official said.

According to a spokesperson of the airline, “The flight experienced a rapid descent during approach, following a rise in cabin altitude, which triggered a warning. The crew carried out all necessary checks in accordance with standard operating procedures, and the Captain requested priority landing as a precautionary measure. The aircraft landed safely in Srinagar and passengers and crew disembarked normally.”
