The national secretary appealed to the people to “vote for the BJP and negate these opportunist political fringe groups to teach them a lifetime lesson”, adding: “I have visited dozens of far-flung areas in Kashmir who are need of development and the BJP will empower them all.”

Chugh said: “It is a positive move that there is enthusiasm among people during the election. They are standing in long queues to cast their votes and it is the first time in the history of Kashmir that people are coming out without any fear and separatist pressures.”

“It is the biggest achievement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his leadership skills. We left no stone unturned to continue his vision and mission in the valley,” he added.

Chugh also met corporators at Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), and Mahila Morcha workers, and urged them to work for the people of Srinagar and smart city projects, the statement added.

“People will see a visible change in the coming years and the party will reach to every corner of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain, while addressing a  rally in Doda,  lashed out at the Congress.

“It is the turn to make the Doda-Kishtwar area Congress-free. Congress has no leader, no worker, neither does it believe in its own people, ” he said.

Speaking in Rajouri,  Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said:  “The Modi government has put Jammu and Kashmir on the economic highway of growth.”

“We have not only ensured the national integrity of this region but also integrated it with the AatmaNirbhar Bharat vision.

“J&K will soon emerge as an educational hub. The IIT, IIM, IIMC, AIIMS will expand educational opportunities for the youth. We want the youth of J&K to compete with the rest of India and achieve their aspirations,” said Thakur, who is also the BJP’s  in charge of Jammu and Kashmir DDC elections.

“Expanding infrastructure and investment in the state will provide them avenues for employment and setting up enterprises,”  Thakur added.
