Jammu, March 3

Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma today visited Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex to inspect the progress works being carried out for its conservation.

He took stock of the works being executed for the restoration of Durbar Hall and Dogra Museum, which have been taken up under Languishing Projects (JKIDFC) scheme.

The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by Executive Director, Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society, Deepika K Sharma; Deputy Director Estates, Jammu, Elyas Khan; Deputy Director, Archives Archaeology & Museum Jammu Tsering Toshi; officials of Engineer wing of MMJHS and other officers concerned.

The Executive Director briefed Verma about the present status of the works being executed in Durbar Hall. She also informed that emergency stabilization of the various structures was also being undertaken in five blocks of Royal Palace complex.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the Executive Director to work out a plan with regard to optimum utilisation of those buildings of Heritage Complex which hadbeen restored completely. He said these needed to be put to the best public use as soon as possible.
