Dreamcatchers India, Mumbai, an organisation working in multiple spheres of media both in India as well as abroad has awarded Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, a well-known politician, writer and social activist with India Inspirational Women Award 2020 in the social service category in a virtual award ceremony.
This year, the award has been given to 20 inspirational women from different fields for their exemplary contribution to their respective fields in India.
Dr Andrabi has been awarded for her social service initiatives which she has been doing throughout the Union Territory of J&K for the last 18 years now.
“Dr Andrabi is a talented public personality and a silent social activist, whose contribution to society is immense as well as inspirational. Her social service missions have been going on for almost two decades now. When the Covid-induced lockdown was imposed, she worked as a bridge among the stranded J&K citizens in other states of India, the rest of the world and government agencies throughout India to manage their safe return to their homes,” read the citation of the Award. The award was given by Paulias Korni, the Papua New Guinea High Commissioner to India.
