The J&K Government today took the final decision to shift the Durbar to the summer capital of Srinagar.

It decided to keep the Secretariat functional at both Jammu and Srinagar in view of the peculiar situation caused due to the Covid pandemic.

The Jammu Secretariat will start working again on July 1, while it will resume its functioning in Srinagar from July 6.

This is in keeping with the “as-is-where-is” principle adopted in April.

The offices in the Civil Secretariat and other move offices willing to go to Srinagar and work from there will shut in Jammu on June 26 and resume their duties in Srinagar on July 6.

Officials, files and other paraphernalia will start moving from Jammu after June 26. All move employees will be entitled to their special travel allowance and holidays of 10 days to move from Jammu to Srinagar. — TNS
