The Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), an amalgam of various trader bodies, has urged the government to extend the duration of the amnesty scheme. “Due to unforeseen events since August 5, 2019, and subsequently due to Covid pandemic, which resulted in continuous lockdown, trade as well as industrial fraternity has been terribly hit. In this regard, the government had extended the benefits of amnesty till June 26, 2020. We urge the government to extend the date of amnesty to the end of financial year 2020-21,” said KEA vice-chairman Aijaz Shahdhar. — TNS
