Former minister alleges assault by Deputy CM’s staff
Former minister and president of J&K National Panthers Party (India), Harsh Dev Singh, has alleged that Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary “misbehaved with him” when he went to his office to submit a memorandum.
In a press statement issued to the media, Singh alleged that he had gone to Choudhary’s office with a memorandum and requested him to address the problem of dilapidated roads which had become unfit for traffic.
“Choudhary got infuriated and threw my memorandum on the floor. He questioned me in a threatening tone as to why I held a protest against him at his department. When I told him that dharnas and protests are held even outside Parliament and that right had been conferred upon citizens of this free country by the Constitution of India, he got agitated,” alleged Singh.
Singh also alleged that he was physically assaulted by the staff members of the Deputy CM. Singh has also submitted a complaint with the police, action on which is pending.
Choudary could not be reached via phone calls. A text message regarding the allegations was not answered till the filing of this report.
