Four of nomad family killed in cloudburst in Baramulla district



Srinagar, September 12

Four members of a nomad family, including three minors, were killed during a cloudburst in Baramulla district, officials said on Sunday.

The cloudburst occurred in the upper belt of Dangiwacha at Hamam Marcoot in Sopore area on Saturday night. Teams of the police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rushed to the spot.

Four bodies have been found. The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Tariq Khari (8), Shahnaza Begum (30), Naziya Akhter (14) and Arif Hussain Khari (5), all residents of Kalsiyan Nowshera area of Rajouri.

Another family member, Mohammad Bashir Khari (80), is still missing, and efforts are on to trace him, officials added. — PTI
