Four trains in Jammu division to resume operations from Dec 1
Were suspended after damage to track following heavy rain and flashfloods
The Jammu Division of the Northern Railway has announced resumption of four more trains in the seventh phase from December 1. In August this year, operations of multiple trains were suspended due to damage to the rail track due to heavy rains and flashfloods in different parts of the region.
“Due to continuous rains and waterlogging in the Jammu Division of the Northern Railway a few months ago, many trains had to be cancelled and some had to be terminated before their destination. However, divisional officials are periodically reviewing various sections and ensuring train safety, and trains are being reinstated from time to time. In this regard, some trains will resume operations in the seventh phase,” said Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal.
Train number 14662 (Jammu Tawi—Barmer), 22462 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra—New Delhi) and 74907 (Pathankot —Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan) will resume operations from December 1, while 74906 (Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan—Pathankot) will start operations from December 2.
Singhal stated, “These trains are being reinstated after ensuring the safety and continuity of the railway tracks. These trains are being operated in the seventh phase, following the resumption of six phases of trains. Train operations in the division are gradually being normalised going forward. To avoid any inconvenience, passengers are advised to check the train schedules on the Northern Railway website or the relevant helpline numbers.”
