Furniture items donated

The Army on Thursday distributed furniture items at Government School, Karawa in Ramban district, with an aim to provide basic amenities to students. The project was initiated on the request of village panchayat, teaching staff of the school and students. Furniture items containing desks, benches, chairs, white board, wooden table and almirah were handed over to the school in the presence of school staff, students, their parents and village elders. The initiative taken by the Army was appreciated by the Head Master and sarpanch.

Musical festival

The Army organised a musical festival with an aim to encourage the youth of Poonch district to showcase their talent in the field of music. The event was organised at Government Degree College (GDC), Mendhar. A large number of students took part in the event. Students from GDC, Medhar, Surankote and Poonch participated along with Government Boys and Girls High School, Mendar.

JU holds workshop

The examination wing of the Controller of Examination, University of Jammu (JU) conducted a day long workshop and awareness programme on “Manual to online mode: Some transitional aspects” for the principals and staff of the private BEd and engineering colleges. Prof Manoj Dhar, JU Vice-Chancellor was the chief guest who congratulated the entire examination wing for developing in-house systems that were capable of providing hassle-free environment to the students.
