Govt will provide all necessary facilities to Amarnath pilgrims: Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Central government and the Jammu and Kashmir administration will leave no stone unturned to provide all necessary facilities to the pilgrims of the annual Amarnath Yatra.
The 38-day pilgrimage to the cave shrine in south Kashmir is scheduled to start on July 3 and conclude on August 9.
On Thursday night, Shah chaired a high-level review meeting for the Amarnath pilgrimage and evaluated the security arrangements and preparedness for the pilgrims. Shah also reviewed the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir at the meeting. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha as well as top officials from the Army, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and intelligence agencies were present during the meeting that ended late on Thursday evening.
In a statement on X, Amit Shah said, “Chaired a review meeting for the Amarnath pilgrimage and evaluated the security arrangements and preparedness meant for the pilgrims.”
“Instructed to maintain the utmost vigilance and ensure the seamless completion of the sacred journey. Central govt and J&K administration will leave no stone unturned to facilitate the pilgrims with all necessary facilities,” said Shah.
It has been learnt that security forces will be deployed in coordination along the entire route of yatra. Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police along with Army will be deployed at critical areas along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway that meanders through many isolated areas along the forests.
