Hizbul associate held in Poonch

Jammu, July 30
An Over Ground Worker (OGW) of the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terror outfit was arrested in Poonch today.
A police spokesperson said the terror associate was apprehended in a joint operation by the 39 RR/6 Sector RR and the Poonch police from the Mangnar area.
The suspect has been identified as Mohd Khalil Lone, a resident of Bandipur district in Kashmir. A mobile phone with multiple Pakistani SIM cards were also recovered from his possession.
“He was apprehended after a meticulously planned joint operation. Preliminary investigations suggest that Khalil is associated with the proscribed terror organisation Hizbul Mujahideen as a logistic provider and an OGW. He was deputed to receive a consignment of arms and ammunition,” said the police official, adding that further investigations were on.
Meanwhile, the security forces also conducted a cordon and search operation in several areas following information about the movement of two suspected persons in Dera Ki Gali area of Poonch.
Another official said the search operation was launched following inputs that two suspects, dressed in black, were seen in Dera ki Gali area. — OC
