Security forces in North Kashmir’s Bandipora successfully defused a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Wednesday morning, marking the fourth such recovery in the valley since Sunday.
According to officials, the IED was detected on the Bandipora-Srinagar highway during a routine road-opening operation. The discovery led to an immediate response, with a bomb disposal squad being called to the site. As a precautionary measure, traffic on the highway was halted until the device was safely neutralised. After the successful disposal, movement on the road was restored.
This latest incident adds to a series of IED recoveries in Kashmir over the past few days. On Sunday, the Army thwarted a potential terror attack after discovering an explosive device in the forested areas of Kupwara near the Line of Control (LoC).
