The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will launch a door-to-door outreach campaign in Jammu and Kashmir as part of its centenary celebrations, which will begin later this year.
The RSS will complete 100 years of its establishment on October 2. The contact programme is scheduled to commence on the same day.
Addressing a media briefing in Jammu, the prant sanghchalak of the organisation, Gautam Maingi, said, “On October 2, shakha programmes will be held in full uniform across all mandals and cities in the province. Over the next year, along with the door-to-door contact campaign, various gatherings, conferences, intellectual meetings, and social harmony events will be organised. Special programmes for the youth will also be conducted.”
He further added, “The target for the province (J&K) is to establish as many RSS branches as possible by this Vijayadashami. All workers are making efforts at their level to achieve this goal.”
Maingi also informed that during the three-day Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting held in Bengaluru from March 21 to 23, a resolution was passed condemning the atrocities against minority Hindus in Bangladesh. The resolution called upon the global community to extend support to Hindus.
