The police said the property attachment is linked to an FIR registered at Sopore police station.

“The action was executed under Sections 82 and 83 of the CrPC by Sopore Police in coordination with revenue authorities following due approval from the competent court,” a police spokesperson said, adding that earlier, the trio had been declared proclaimed offenders by the court.

The police said the attachment is aimed at “building pressure on the absconding accused to appear before the court and face the law.”

“This move marks yet another step in Sopore police’s continued efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem, ensure accountability and uphold national security,” the police said, adding that further investigation is underway.

The police in South Kashmir’s Awantipora said on Tuesday that an immovable property of a terror handler has been attached. A police spokesperson said the property situated at Frestabal Pampore (Drangabal estate) of terror handler Owais Feroze Mir has been attached after an order regarding attachment was received by Awantipora police.

The police said the order was executed today by revenue authorities along with Pampore police and local villagers. The spokesperson said the said terrorist is involved in a case registered at Pampore police station and was declared as proclaimed offender by special NIA Court, Pulwama.

The police said Pakistan-based terrorist Owais Feroze is involved in promoting and trying to revive terrorist activities by pushing in arms and ammunition and activating local terror networks.
