National Conference Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Monday raised the issue of age relaxation to the aspirants of J&K Police’s sub-inspector posts in Parliament.
Mehdi urged the central government to grant one-time age relaxation to aspirants of sub-inspector posts. Representing Srinagar constituency in the Lok Sabha, Mehdi highlighted that due to delays in recruitment, thousands of candidates have become ineligible as they have crossed the upper age limit.
Mehdi said that delays have denied many qualified aspirants the opportunity to serve in the police force. “I urge the Ministry of Home Affairs to grant age relaxation as the process of recruitment of sub-inspector that had started years ago has been delayed. The delay was caused due to irregularities of the agency that was hired for the recruitment. There are many aspirants whose age has exceeded the limit for applying for the posts,” said the MP.
