Islamic University to give skill training to Darul Uloom students

Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Vice Chancellor Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo today said the university would be providing skill training to youths pursuing religious education in local Darul Ulooms.

“During his interaction with the locals who requested imparting of skill training to the youth pursuing religious education in the local Darul Ulooms, the Vice Chancellor assured them that specific skilling programmes will be curated, enabling them to earn their livelihood,” the IUST statement said here.

The university’s statement said that IUST, through its skilling academy, has successfully trained over 3000 youths in more than 21 job roles.

Prof Romshoo while inaugurating the Sadre Mouj hostel at IUST’s Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology in Chari Shrief, Budgam, with a capacity to house 200 students, said the construction of the hostel facility was prioritised to ensure convenience for students hailing from distant areas.

While inspecting various facilities on the campus, Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo said the state-of-the-art facilities available at the college would help students. The structures, constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 11 crore, are fully furnished and include separate mess facilities.

The IUST statement also said that Prof Romshoo urged the college principal to initiate community outreach activities for spreading awareness among locals about health, wellness, and other issues relevant to general upliftment.
