The administration of Jammu district has asked departments concerned to disconnect the water and power connection of a plot that has been illegally occupied by a group of Rohingya refugees in the Trikuta Nagar area of Jammu city. Bahu tehsil Tehsildar said, “This office received an application from the Jammu’s Nideesh Encalve Residents’ Welfare Association president Channi Rama, wherein he requested for the eviction of illegal Rohingyas near their enclave. They have illegally occupied plot and constructed jhugis over it and are also doing scrap business without authorisation from the spot. Their settlement has raised serious law and order, hygiene and safety issues for residents of the enclave.”
