The Crime Branch, Jammu, produced a chargesheet against an imposter for preparing and forging letter head of Former External Affairs Minister late Sushma Swaraj with an intention to procure helicopter tickets on priority from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Katra ,by committing fraud.
According to an official spokesperson, Deputy Divisional Manager (operations), SMVDSB, Katra, lodged a complaint at the katra police station against the accused identified as Sandeep Koul, a resident of Channi Himmat, Jammu, who was running a tour and travels agency—The Desh Pradesh Tour and Travels, Shastri Nagar, Jammu.
The Deputy Divisional Manager, in his complaint alleged that the protocol wing of the SMVD Shrine Board, Katra, had been receiving letters recommending priorities for helicopter tickets.
“The accused using a fake ID had sought favour from the shrine board after preparing the official letter head of the former External Affairs Minister and appended scanned signatures of the minister to use the same to his advantage,” the spokesperson said. The chargesheet was produced in the court of Sub-Judge, Katra, on Wednesday.
