Jammu Municipal Commissioner Devansh Yadav on Sunday conducted a surprise visit to Rehari Colony to take stock of sanitation facilities being provided by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and also checked the attendance of sanitation staff of the ward.

Yadav directed the Health and Sanitation Wing to ensure proper sanitation in every nook and corner of the ward. He interacted with the local residents and requested for public participation and cooperation in maintaining better sanitation in the city.

Yadav appealed to the people not to throw garbage in the lanes and drains. He emphasised the importance of ensuring proper sanitation in municipal jurisdiction to maintain hygiene and prevent the accumulation of waste. He said without community involvement, it is not possible to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat Mission.

The Commissioner also instructed the Health and Sanitation Wing to regularly verify the attendance of sanitation workers to ensure punctuality so that efficient service delivery is ensured, adding that any lapses in maintaining sanitation would not be tolerated.

He directed the sanitation staff to clean lanes and drains on regular basis to avoid accumulation of refuse in the wards so that the rank of the Jammu City is improved in the Swachhta Sarvekshan.
