The entire Jammu region has been placed on high alert as Republic Day celebrations approach, with security forces intensifying surveillance along the International Border (IB) in the Jammu division. The heightened alert aims to prevent any infiltration attempts by Pakistan-backed terrorists.
The police are closely monitoring traditional routes used by terrorists who enter India through border areas. In a bid to assess the security situation, Director General of Police (DGP), Nalin Prabhat, visited the strategically significant Basantgarh area in Udhampur to conduct a comprehensive operational review. During his visit, the DGP interacted with personnel deployed at Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) and praised their dedication despite challenging working conditions. He urged the officers to remain vigilant in addressing ongoing security threats, while prioritising the safety of local residents.
The DGP emphasised the importance of community engagement, urging police personnel to strengthen relationships with the people of Basantgarh. He directed them to intensify efforts in addressing public grievances and fostering trust between the local community and the security forces.
