Jitendra Singh visits injured soldiers at Jammu military hospital, lauds them for valour
Union Minister Jitendra Singh visited the Military Hospital in Jammu on Sunday to meet security personnel who were injured during recent skirmishes with Pakistan following Operation Sindoor.
Singh, the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), praised the injured personnel for their bravery and lauded the medical team, led by Brigadier Dr Fayaz Ahmad, for their “precise and prompt intervention” in saving lives and helping many soldiers become battle-ready again.
“I visited the military hospital to meet the personnel who were recently injured, and seeing their courage, one feels absolutely humbled and indebted. The nation is truly indebted to them,” the minister told reporters.
He noted that most of the injured personnel belonged to the Indian Army and the Border Security Force (BSF). “They told me they are ready to go back and fight the enemy till their last breath,” Singh said.
What stood out during the visit, Singh added, was the unwavering willpower of the jawans — many of whom have already begun recovering and are preparing to return to duty. “Their injuries varied, but their resolve was the same: to serve the country without hesitation,” he remarked.
Commending the medical team, Singh said, “With such excellence and timely intervention, not only were lives saved, but many soldiers were also made fit to return to the front.”
Officials stated that the minister met the injured Army and BSF personnel and was briefed by the attending medical officers and specialists on the nature of injuries, surgical interventions, and current recovery status.
Singh, who is a doctor by profession, was given a detailed update on the treatment protocols and rehabilitation processes being followed.
In a post on X, the minister wrote: “Had the opportunity to visit Military Hospital Satwari, Jammu, and meet the brave soldiers admitted there with varied injuries during the recent sequence of events. Humbled to see the courage and unstoppable spirit of our braves. The nation is eternally indebted to them.”
He added, “Must equally commend the timely intervention, prompt decision-making, and surgical precision with which the dedicated team of medical specialists here performed, led by Brigadier Dr Fayaz Ahmad,” while sharing a video of his visit.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the armed forces, Singh said, “This episode is a reminder of the grit and determination that drives India’s uniformed personnel.” He described the visit as both emotional and reassuring, particularly witnessing the soldiers’ eagerness to return to their posts so soon after sustaining injuries.
