JK govt announces summer vacations for summer, winter zones of Jammu

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday announced summer vacations in the summer zone and winter zone of Jammu. The vacations in summer zone schools will start from June 15 to July 15 whereas in winter zone from July 6 to July 15.

Though the students are already at home due to the closure of schools due to COVID-19 breakout, the School Education Department of J&K has issued an order to announce summer vacations for summer and winter zones of the Jammu division.

The order has also enclosed some conditions for the summer vacations.

According to the order, the online classes of teachers with students shall be ensured through Whatsapp group or Google meet etc, and at least five days a week.

The schools have also been instructed to conduct weekly program/ assignments throughout the vacation period besides engaging children in cultural activities.

Schools will have to ensure that all the teachers are available for any query/doubt to students through voice calls, text or WhatsApp message during this period.
