J&K Minister hopeful development projects will be expedited

Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, has said that after direct rail link to Kashmir, he was hopeful that other developmental projects will also be expeditiously completed.

Rana, who hails from the remote Pir Panjal region, said he hopes that other ongoing and planned infrastructure projects in J&K will be opened for the public soon. These include the Jammu-Poonch National Highway, Loran to Tangmarg Road, Tunnel on Mughal Road, Budhal to Shopian Road, among others.

"The completion of these projects will further enhance the connectivity and accessibility of different regions of Jammu and Kashmir, thereby promoting economic growth and overall development, especially in the Pir Panjal Region,” Rana said.

He complemented the Railways, the Union Government, as well as the UT Government for bringing this engineering marvel to life.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Railways Minister, he recalled the efforts of successive governments over the years that have gone into making this project a reality.

“This train service is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of our governments towards improving the connectivity and infrastructure of Jammu and Kashmir,” Rana said.

“It will not only enhance the mobility of people but also boost economic activity, promote tourism and provide new opportunities for growth and development in various regions and sub-regions of J&K,” he said.

The Minister expressed optimism that this development will have a positive impact on the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in terms of economic development and social connectivity.
