After making changes in the syllabi and courses besides revising the textbooks of Classes VI to X, the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has made no changes in syllabi and course study of Urdu subject for Class XII for the academic session 2020-21 of summer zone (Jammu Province).
Sources said after the school education made changes in the syllabi and courses of the textbooks by adding the history of the erstwhile J&K State, there were speculations about possible changes in Urdu subject too.
They added that the same was notified by BOSE later that the syllabi of Urdu textbook was revised/changed vide a notification dated December 12, 2019.
“As the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is under the lockdown amid the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, the study from the changes/revised textbooks/syllabus/courses of study is already in practice from the academic session November-December 2019 in case of Kashmir division/winter zone areas of Jammu division/Union Territory of Ladakh. In case of the summer zone areas of Jammu province, the revised editions/titles and syllabi is also applicable from this academic session (March-April)”, an official said.
“After a lot of discussion, it was decided that there is now need to bring any changes in the syllabi/course of the Urdu subject”, official added.
