JKWP raises issues of daily wagers with L-G

Jammu and Kashmir Workers Party (JKWP) president Junaid Mir on Friday said Lt- Governor GC Murmu had assured him that all 1.5 lakh daily wagers working in the Union Territory would be regularised in their respective departments.

Mir who met the Lt-Governor in Jammu raised issues concerning the youth and daily wagers working in different departments.

In a statement issued by the party, Junaid said the JKWP informed the Lt- Governor about issues of the NIS-trained youngsters who had been deprived of salaries and their duties were also discussed.

“Issues of 1.5 lakh daily wagers were discussed. The previous regimes has played with their emotions and every time they have been deprived of their rights. The Lt- Governor has assured me that every single daily wager will be absorbed so they can live a dignified life,” said Mir.

The statement says that strengthening the democracy at the grass-roots level was also discussed in which training of elected panchayat representatives and BDC members was taken up.

He said concerns of workers engaged in the PHE, NRHM junior pharmacists were discussed and he assured them that the issues would be solved at the earliest by the Lt-Governor,” said Mir. Various development issues pertaining to Pir Panchal range, Kupwara Tanghdar and Jammu were also discussed.
