JMC conducts ‘Public Samvaad’ session

The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Thursday organised second session of its ‘Public Samvaad’ initiative at Asrarabad, Sidhra.

The aim of the event was to engage the community in the development plans for the area and to ensure their active participation in the decision-making process, besides effective implementation of various government schemes for the welfare of the people living in jurisdiction of JMC.

The event was attended by Jammu East MLA Yudhvir Sethi and JMC Commissioner Devansh Yadav, who actively engaged with the public to address their grievances and suggestions.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA appreciated the Commissioner for launch of ‘Public Samvaad’ in JMC jurisdiction. He said under this initiative, the government comes to the doorsteps of the people to address their genuine issues.

On the occasion, he urged the people to plant saplings in their respective wards, which would go a long way to keep the environment neat, clean and pollution free.

Yadav in his address dwelt in detail about the aim and objectives of organising the event. He said such ‘Public Samvaad’ would also be organised in other wards of JMC.

Responding to the demands, the Commissioner said that JMC has taken up various initiatives for provision of basic amenities to the people. Appreciating the initiative, the locals projected a charter of demands, which included repair of street lights, improvement in drainage system, regular water supply, development of parks, opening of dispensary, tiling of internal streets, installation of ATM kiosk, construction of bridge to connect Asrarabad with Gulshan Nagar and blacktopping of local link roads.
