The Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Professor Manoj Dhar launched the new website of the University (www.jammuuniversity.ac.in). The website features a new home page, more accessibility and updated sites, easier to navigate the digital content like videos and photographs. The university decided to launch the website primarily due to the old technology based website, which did not host micro websites and much of the contents were static. Among others, Prof Rajnikant, controller of examinations, Prof Rajni Dhingra, registrar, Prof Vibhakar Mansotra, director, IT, and Amit Mahajan were also present on the occasion.
Sports-cum-Grandparents Day celebrated
RM Public School on Friday celebrated the sports-cum-grandparents day with zeal and excitement on its premises. All guests were welcomed by the chairman of the school, Rameshwar Mengi, the Trustee, Rita Mengi, Principal Ravinder Kour, Rakshan Mengi (director SNJN) and the administrator, Surinder Singh. The programme emphasised on the importance of sports as well as grandparents in a child’s life. The dignitaries were also welcomed by the students of Class V – Anshul and Samreen.
JU celebrates national girl child day
The department of lifelong learning, University of Jammu, celebrated national Girl Child Day with the objective to raise awareness about the rights of girls, discuss various atrocities and inequalities that girls face in their daily lives and to increase awareness about the importance of girl education, nutrition, and health. Similarly, the University’s Centre for Women’s Studies, University of Jammu also organised ‘Nukkad Natak’ (street play) on the theme “Hamari Betiyaan” on the campus.
