Jammu, November 19
Lt-Governor of Jammu and Kashmir GC Murmu today allocated different departments to his two recently appointed Advisers, retired IPS officer Farooq Khan and retired bureaucrat KK Sharma, with the powers of a minister.
According to an order issued by the government, Farooq Khan has been allocated the charge of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, ARI and Trainings, Cooperative, Floriculture, Election, Labour and Employment, Haj and Auqaf, Social Welfare, Tribal Affairs and Youth Affairs and Sports departments.
The order said the L-G has asked his second Adviser KK Sharma to look after Public Works, Power, Planning, Development and Monitoring, School Education, Higher Education, Technical Education and Industries and Commerce departments.
Murmu retains Home, ACB, GAD, Estates and Law department with him.
The order said the papers related to the General Administration Department (GAD), Home Department and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) would be submitted by the respective Administrative Secretaries through Chief Secretary to the Lt-Governor.
“The papers related to the All India Services (IAS, IPS and IFS) shall be submitted by the respective Administrative Secretaries through the GAD and Chief Secretary for consideration of the Lt-Governor. The papers related to Agriculture Production, Horticulture, Housing & Urban Development, Information Technology, Science & Technology, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Culture, Health & Medical Education, Estates, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Revenue, Forest, Ecology & Environment, Information and PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control shall also be submitted by the respective Administrative Secretaries through Chief Secretary to the Lt-Governor,” the order said.
The government order said, “The papers related to Transport, Finance, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction, Hospitality & Protocol and Civil Aviation shall be submitted by the respective Administrative Secretaries through Financial Commissioner, Finance Department, to the Lt-Governor.”
Meanwhile, the L-G also delegated the ministerial powers to the Chief Secretary and Administrative Secretaries of different departments.
