L-G Sinha announces jobs for kin of Pakistan shelling victims

The L-G visited Poonch district and met with the grieving families who lost their loved ones due to unprovoked shelling by Pakistan.

“Proper rehabilitation of the affected families is my top priority. The J&K administration is committed to ensuring their rehabilitation, enhancing border infrastructure, and strengthening security for residents of border areas. We are significantly expanding efforts to construct individual and community bunkers across Jammu and Kashmir under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE),” said Sinha.

During his visit, he paid obeisance at Gurudwara Dera Santpura Nangali Sahib and interacted with local residents. He lauded the people of Poonch, civil society members, and various communities for their courage and social harmony.

“Pakistan has once again displayed its cowardice by targeting sacred sites, including Gurudwara Dera Santpura Nangali Sahib, a temple, and a mosque. Through this despicable act of heavy shelling on religious places, the terror state has tried to damage our social fabric,” he said.

“I salute the people of Poonch. Their courage has provided moral strength to our brave soldiers. We are proud of our citizens who stand united against the adversary’s conspiracy to divide society along religious lines,” he added.

The L-G reiterated the firm resolve of the Central Government, the J&K administration, and the armed forces to take exemplary action against terrorism and those attempting to create religious and sectarian divisions.

Later, the L-G visited the Dungus area, which was affected by the shelling, and reviewed the situation in a meeting with senior administrative and district officials in Poonch.

He directed officials to take all necessary measures to restore essential services and supplies and to submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) to the Divisional Commissioner’s Office and the Chief Secretary’s Office.

He also instructed officials to conduct a comprehensive assessment of requirements for bunker construction, upgrade medical services at the District Hospital, and strengthen the civil defence system.

The L-G later visited Government Medical College, Rajouri, to inquire about the well-being of those injured in the shelling.
