L-G Sinha, Omar express grief over Gujarat plane crash

Condolences poured in from the political and social circles of Jammu and Kashmir after a plane crash in Ahmedabad wherein a thorough investigation into the incident was demanded.

National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah expressed his grief and demanded an investigation into the incident.

While talking to the reporters, Abdullah said, “This is after a very long time that such an incident has taken place in our country. The passengers, including mostly Indian citizens, were going to London. What I have heard is that when the plane was gaining height, there was a power failure and it hit a building”.

“There should be a thorough investigation so that such incidents do not take place in future. I have not heard that these planes have faced any such difficulties,” he said.

J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said he was shocked by the crash. “Deeply shocked and pained by the flight crash in Ahmedabad. My prayers are with the passengers and their families” he said on X.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said his prayers are with the victims’ kin.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti grieved the deaths and said the incident should be investigated and the reasons be brought out so that the responsibility can be fixed.

Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhari said in a statement, “This is an unspeakable tragedy. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace, and may the Almighty grant their loved ones strength, comfort and patience in this time of immense sorrow”.
