The website aims to promote sustainable and eco-friendly tourism in Ladakh.

CECWangyal congratulated LAHDC deputy chairman Tsering Sandup-led Tourism Department, Leh, and the team of LAMO for coming up with this comprehensive website, which was desperately needed for Ladakh and its tourism promotion exclusively.

“Our identity got strengthened after we got the UT status. Now with our own website for tourism, it will play a vital role in propagating our unique identity across the world,” Wangyal said.

The CEC acknowledged the design developed by the team of local youths headed by LAMO project director Tashi Morup and said it had almost all ingredients needed to highlight the Ladakh tourism.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandup said the purpose of this maiden website was not just tourism promotion, but to make the world know about the sustainable and eco-friendly tourism policy of Ladakh.

He said almost all sectors of tourism were mentioned on the website, developed at a very low-cost.

The LAHDC deputy chairman also stressed about the need for a tourism promotion cell to promote Ladakh through different mediums, including social media.

Meanwhile, LAMO project director said the website was developed as a gesture of charity for the progress and development of Ladakh. He said it was a mobile-friendly website so that tourists could easily access information and consists of a feedback option and was also linked to social media applications.
