The Chairman of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Tashi Gyalson, convened a meeting to discuss the proposed alignment for the Leh-Nimoo four-lane highway project.

The meeting was attended by several key officials, including Superintending Engineer of PWD, Leh Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh Tehsildar, Officer Commanding 81 RCC (BRO), Executive Engineers from the Construction and Roads & Bridges (R&B) Divisions, among others.

The session began with a detailed presentation by Vivek Kumar, site engineer, who provided a comprehensive overview of the proposed highway alignment. His presentation highlighted various critical aspects of the project, including the key routes, potential challenges, and the expected benefits of the four-lane highway, which aims to improve connectivity between Leh and Nimoo.

After reviewing the proposal, Gyalson stressed the importance of a collaborative approach. He suggested a joint survey involving concerned councillors, nambardars, all relevant departments, and other stakeholders. He urged the officials to work together to finalise the alignment while addressing all challenges.
