Ladakh University, KU to prepare road map of holding exams

Controller of Examination, University of Kashmir, Prof Farooq Ahmad Mir called on Lieutenant-Governor of Ladakh RK Mathur in Leh on Friday to apprise him of the status of undergraduate university examinations of students of different semesters and batches and the declaration of results of these examinations.

Prof Mir was accompanied by the Controller of Examination, University of Ladakh Deskyong Namgyal and two rectors of campuses of Kashmir University in Ladakh.

During the meeting, Prof Mir presented a detailed status of examinations and results to the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) and apprised him of the establishment of examination sub-offices at two satellite campuses of the University of Kashmir in which local human resource was engaged to address all the grievances of the students of the region.

The L-G was informed that the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kashmir was taking personal interest in the examination processes of the student of the Ladakh region. He was also informed that the conduct as well as result declaration of all semester examinations of the students of the Ladakh region are much ahead to the students of the Kashmir region.

On the advice of the L-G, Prof Mir and Prof Namgyal have been entrusted to prepare a road map for holding these exams in future within the time frame so as to address grievances of the students of Ladakh.

“In this road map, special consideration will have to be given to students of 2015 batch and it was decided that their backlog exams shall be held in March-April 2020. For other batches of students, ie 2016-2019 batches, a clear roadmap shall be soon notified for the information of all the stakeholders,” an official spokesperson said.
