LAHDC to evacuate stranded Ladakhis, meets L-G Mathur
Leh, April 28
The Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Gyal P Wangyal along with three members of the Executive Council met Lt-Governor RK Mathur at Raj Niwas and apprised him about its decision of evacuating all Ladakhi people stranded in various cities of the country through road transport.
The delegation, which also comprised of Deputy Chairman Tsering Sandup and Executive Councillor for Agriculture Phuntsok Stanzin, said, “Looking into the interest of the stranded people, the LAHDC has decided to make required arrangements for their evacuation by road transport and will strictly follow the standard operating procedure”.
The delegation has requested the L-G to assist them in getting the UT Administration’s help so that inter-state movement could be facilitated along with required security arrangements till Leh.
The delegation also assured him that the stranded persons would be quarantined for the mandatory period. They said the decision of evacuation was taken as no concrete action in this regard had been taken so far. — OC
