Lance Naik ends life

A Lance Naik reportedly committed suicide with his service weapon at a forward post this morning.

Sources said Lance Naik Ashish Kumar, while manning a forward post in the Balnoi area under the Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district, was found in a pool of blood by his colleagues.

The soldier was immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility but was declared brought dead by a doctor.

Meanwhile, the Army’s bomb disposal team has defused two live mortar shells at Lanjyot village in Balakot tehsil in Poonch district. On the information of Nazir Hussain, sarpanch Lanjyot village, the Army defused two live 120-mm mortar shells, fired by the Pakistan army recently.
