Jammu, March 25
The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has extended the last date for private schools for registering and uploading information on Private Schools Information Portal. The school directorate which earlier had fixed March 20 deadline for all private schools of the Jammu region to upload the information has now extended up to March 31, 2020.
To ensure smooth mechanism for monitoring the functioning of private schools as well as for quick disposal of their applications in various matters, the school education directorate launched a portal for creating database of more than 2,800 private schools of Jammu Province. Around 4,38,115 students have been enrolled in 2,816 private schools in Jammu division. Overall, there are more than 5,000 private schools in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The database in the new portal schedujammu.nic.in/ pvtschool. is carrying information of all private schools (from pre-primary to Class XII) affiliated with the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE)/Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)/Indian Certificate of Secondary Examination (ICSE) regarding infrastructure, employee details, fee details, facilities etc which are mandatory for creating an efficient mechanism for monitoring of private schools. Sources said the decision to extend the last date for furnishing information by the private schools was taken after some of the requisite documents were not uploaded by some schools despite being asked.
