Banihal, Budhal MLAs call on CM Omar Abdullah

Banihal MLA Sajjad Shaheen and Budhal MLA Javid Iqbal called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday. An official statement said they discussed key developmental issues concerning their respective constituencies and sought the government’s intervention in addressing the pressing needs of the people.
The Chief Minister assured them that the concerns raised would be duly examined and appropriate steps taken to ensure balanced development across all regions, officials said. Meanwhile, the statement said that the Union Bank of India today extended support to the ongoing flood relief efforts in Jammu and Kashmir by contributing Rs 1 crore. A cheque was formally handed over to Omar Abdullah at the Civil Secretariat here.
Expressing gratitude, the Chief Minister appreciated the gesture of the bank, noting that such contributions would significantly aid in relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected people, the statement said, adding that CM said collective efforts from institutions and individuals play a crucial role in helping the union territory recover from the calamity.
