Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, chairman Tashi Gyalson convened a meeting regarding finalisation of subsidy scheme 2025-26 in different sectors.

The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor for Rural Development, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor for Horticulture, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor; Executive Councillor for Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel; and Leh DC Santosh Sukhadeve among others.

Discussions focused on reviewing the progress of subsidy components across various sectors, including agriculture, horticulture, transport, sports, health, education, tourism, LREDA, sheep and animal husbandry, information, handicrafts and handloom, ITI, and social welfare.

Gyalson emphasised the need for timely execution and strict monitoring of all ongoing projects under LAHDC Leh’s subsidy scheme for financial year 2025-26. He directed officials to ensure optimal utilisation of funds, aiming for 100% expenditure to maximise benefits for the people of Leh district.

The meeting also reviewed the allocation of funds across different sectors, with a detailed discussion on the percentage of allocation for key flagship schemes.

Providing an update on the digital transformation of services, Director, NIELIT, Phuntsog Toldan and Deputy Director, Motor Garages, Tundup Namgail, briefed Gyalson on the progress of the Khorlo software application which integrates geo-fencing, fair rate calculation, and digital payment options. He assured that the app is on track for launch by the end of March, alongside driver recruitment and related processes.
