LeT terrorist handler’s property demolished

On Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir Government announced that in a “decisive” operation, the Anantnag police demolished an illegally constructed house and plinth linked to a terrorist handler associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfit, who is currently based in Pakistan.

A statement from the Anantnag police revealed that the action was taken in coordination with the district administration. The property in question, located in Rekha Hassanpora, was built on encroached state land. The house and plinth belonged to Haroon Rashid Ganie, a known terrorist handler with ties to the banned terror group, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Ganie, who has been operating from Pakistan since 2018, is believed to have orchestrated several terror activities aimed at undermining national security and sovereignty.

The police emphasised that this operation is part of a broader, ongoing campaign to dismantle terror networks and eliminate their support structures in the region. “Anantnag police remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold law and order and ensuring that no individual or group misuses government land for unlawful activities,” the statement continued.

The police vowed to continue its strict measures against terror operatives and their facilitators, reaffirming its unwavering stance against terrorism in the district. The statement further added that such actions are part of the police’s continued efforts to combat terrorism, especially focusing on those operating from Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

In recent times, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has intensified its actions against terrorists operating in Kashmir who are based in Pakistan.
