Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today released two books — one by the Labour & Employment Department and another by J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) — at Raj Bhavan here.
Briefing Sinha about the contents of the books, Saurabh Bhagat, Commissioner/Secretary to the Labour and Employment Department, said: “The publications summarise and highlight the functions, achievements of 2019-20 and the role of Labour & Employment Department and JKEDI in alleviating the miseries of migrant labourers during the lockdown by providing them with cash, masks, food, water and counselling. Besides, the migrants were also evacuated from different parts of the country via Shramik trains and buses.”
“The book by the Labour & Employment Department also highlights the labour reforms which include amendment to various labour laws & rules as well as provision of 13 online services and 26 services under the Public Service Guarantee Act, 2011, of the Labour Department keeping in view the concept of ease of doing business,” he added. — TNS
