Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar of the Northern Command on Saturday visited the formations along the LoC to review the security situation and the operational preparedness in Kashmir. In post on X, formerly Twitter, the Northern Command mentioned, “#LtGenMVSuchindraKumar,#ArmyCdrNC, along with #ChinarCorps Cdr visited formations along the LoC. He was briefed on the latest operational preparedness and capability augmentation. He interacted with the troops and complimented them for their steadfastness in foiling infiltration bids along the Line of Control.”

During his visit, Lt Gen Kumar also visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) to review the counter-infiltration grid and the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the hinterland, officials said.

Later, Lt Gen Kumar, accompanied by Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, visited Victor and Kilo Force to review the prevalent security situation.

The Army said he was briefed on the counter insurgency grid, soldier-citizen connect and operational preparedness. He appreciated the operational alacrity of the formations and exhorted all ranks to maintain the operation tempo.

Lt Gen Kumar is on his first visit to Kashmir after taking over as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command on February 19. In the last three days, he reviewed security along the LoC and Kashmir’s hinterland. On Friday, Lt Gen Kumar also held a meeting with J&K’s Director General of Police RR Swain and other senior officials.

He exhorted all ranks to remain focused on operational preparedness and to continue working with utmost zeal and enthusiasm, officials said.
