Major reshuffle in admn, police dept in J&K

In a major reshuffle in the civil and police administration, five IAS officers and four senior police officers were transferred or given additional charge.

Jatin Kishore, Additional Secretary in the L-G Secretariat holding additional charge of the post of Director Information, J&K, was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal.

Shishir Gupta, Additional DC, Jammu, was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, in place of Shahid Saleem, who was directed to report to the General Administration Department for further posting.

Nitish Rajora, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Jammu, was transferred and posted as Director Information. Rakesh Kumar, SDM, Hiranagar, was transferred and posted as Additional DC, Jammu.

Shubhankar Pratyush, SDM, Akhnoor, was transferred and posted as SDM, Uri, in Baramulla in place of Javid Ahmad Rather, who will report to the GAD for further posting.

In the Police Department, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain was on Thursday transferred and posted as ADGP Armed. In his place, Bhim Sen Tuti, holding the additional charge of IGP (Hqrs), IGP (Technical Services) and IGP (telecom) has been posted as IGP, Jammu zone.

SJM Gillani, DGP, MD, Police Housing Corporation, will hold the additional charge of the post of Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defense and SDRF J&K.

M Suleman Choudhary, IGP Traffic, will hold the additional charge of IGP (Hqrs), IGP (Technical Services), J&K, and IGP (Telecom) in addition to his own duties.

Meanwhile, the police headquarters posted 43 DSPs in different areas of J&K consequent on their promotions. 17 other officials including SDPOs were also sifted and posted elsewhere.
