Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar Shahid Choudhary issued an order on Friday, urging the shopkeepers to keep in mind the ‘complex situation’ with regard to the coronavirus pandemic.

“This detailed background and table of permitted activities may be little complex to understand but we’re dealing with more complex situation,” Choudhary said in a tweet, while posting the snapshots of the order.

Shopkeepers welcomed the order as the main markets of the city have remained shut since March 19 when the lockdown began.

“This is a welcome step for the business fraternity which is in a deep slumber since August last year. We appeal to the business community as well as to the people to follow the standard operating procedures in letter and spirit while engaging in their day-to-day activities,” said Ajaz Shahdhar, president, Kashmir Trade Front.
