New Delhi, February 19
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today said it had conducted raids at eight locations in Jammu & Kashmir and Rajasthan in connection with its probe into a case linked to conspiracy hatched by a number of terror outfits in the Valley and other major cities of the country.
Officials in the NIA said sleuths conducted simultaneous searches in the districts of Sopore, Kupwara, Shopian, Rajouri, Budgam, Ganderbal in J&K and Jodhpur in Rajasthan to gather evidence against the suspects.
During the search drive, various incriminating documents, digital devices, SIM cards and digital storage devices have been seized, officials said.
“The case relates to planning and conspiracy for undertaking violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities, including New Delhi, by cadres of prescribed terrorist organisations Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as The Resistance Front (TRF) and People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF). We have arrested 28 persons in the case so far,” a senior NIA official said, adding that further investigation in the matter continues.

- Several documents, SIM cards and digital storage devices have been seized during the NIA’s search drive, say officials.
- The search was conducted in Sopore, Kupwara, Shopian, Rajouri, Budgam, Ganderbal in J&K and Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
