Ladakh police saved a Nepali man, who attempted to end his life by jumping into Suru river in Kargil district of the UT. The incident took place near the taxi stand at Kabadi Nallah, Kargil, early on Monday.
Police said a local resident, Mohammad Hussain, saw the man jumping into the river. Hussain quickly alerted the authorities, prompting a swift response from the police that reached the spot within minutes. Sub Inspector Tsering Norboothe along with a police team rescued the man from the river. He had sustained minor injuries during the incident. He was taken to the Kargil district hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. — OC
