Srinagar, June 18
A newly recruited militant was arrested by the police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday evening.
The police said Imran Nabi Dar, 23, had joined militancy last week.
“He was arrested late last night at Janglat Mandi,” a senior police officer said.
Dar, an MSc student, had gone missing on June 11 and joined the militant ranks.
Meanwhile, three missing youths from north Kashmir’s Sopore sub-district were traced by the police on Thursday.
The families of the three youths had lodged a report on June 17 at the Warpora police post, saying their kin were missing. “Today, the police traced the missing trio within less than 18 hours. After completing the legal formalities, the youths were handed over to their family members,” a police officer said.
